DEBORAH A. ELIASON, as principal and founder of Eliason Law Office, LLC ("Eliason Law"), advises residential, commercial, retail, municipal and non-profit clients with regard to project development matters, including state and local permitting, and real estate transactions.
Prior to forming her own firm, Ms. Eliason was Of Counsel to Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., a national firm based in Washington, D.C., where she handled the real estate aspects of the firm's land use development practice in its Massachusetts office. Prior to that, Ms. Eliason was a principal with Kopelman and Paige, P.C. where she represented municipalities throughout the Commonwealth developing an in-depth knowledge of municipal practices and procedures. With more than thirty years of legal experience, she has been involved in many transactions, both commercial and residential, and has represented clients throughout Massachusetts.
Ms. Eliason is a magna cum laude graduate of Salve Regina College and received her law degree cum laude from Suffolk University School of Law. She is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and the District of Columbia and before U.S. District Court (Mass.). She is a member of the Women's Bar Association and Massachusetts Real Estate Bar Association. Ms. Eliason, a longtime Gloucester resident, is on the Board of Directors of Cape Ann Animal Aid Association, Inc., previously serving as vice-president and co-chair of its New Shelter Building Committee. KARIN M. THEO joined Eliason Law as an associate in 2016. Ms. Theo concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate, permitting and business law. She advises and works with clients on various residential and commercial real estate transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, commercial lending, land donations as well as land use and permitting matters. Ms. Theo assists with business formation, maintenance and transactional matters, including contract drafting, review and negotiation, asset transfers and acquisitions. She brings a strong legal background and eight years of experience prior to Eliason Law in real estate, permitting and business, as well as civil litigation representing real estate developers, contractors, title insurance companies and various businesses and individuals. Ms. Theo is a summa cum laude graduate of Gordon College and studied a year abroad at Oxford where she studied comparative law, ethics, and jurisprudence. ANNE RONAN came to Eliason Law Office following many years in the newspaper business on the North Shore, where she worked in advertising sales and management. In her role as Office Manager at Eliason Law Office, she has a wide range of responsibilities. She is involved in every aspect of office operations, from greeting clients, to maintaining files, scheduling, and handling accounts receivable. Anne’s favorite aspect of her position is the many rewarding relationships she has established with the firm’s clients. Anne lives in Gloucester with her husband and their two children.
